The Common Application
You can begin making a Common App account at https://apply.commonapp.org/createaccount.
During the registration process, you will need to enter some important information about yourself and our school. Please see below for details.

Cumulative GPA: use the number on the 1-7 IB scale found at the bottom of your most recent transcript. If needed, you can ask me for this information.
Scale: "7"
Weighting: "none"
Rank reporting: "none"
Education:
CBO: The answer should be no unless someone else helped you prepare your applications.
Current year courses: 8
Give the exact name and level of all 6 of your IB courses, including as #7 TOK and #8 Extended Essay.
Length: each course is a full year course.
Credit: each course is worth one credit
Testing:
Include the ACT if you have taken it.
IB subjects: add all 8 courses (including #7 TOK and #8 Extended Essay).
Leaving exam: "none"
FERPA:
Check: I authorize ...
Check: I waive ... (You have the right NOT to waive your right, but most people do since colleges may wonder why you feel the need to see your recommendations, and may not take them as seriously as if you waived your right to see them.)

Recommenders:
Once you have used the "College Search" tab to find and add colleges to your personal list (at which point they will show up both in "My Colleges" and your "Dashboard"), you will need to add some recommenders. You can only do this after you have completed the Education section.

After you have added me as your college counselor, you can add more teachers in a similar manner. It would be polite to ask permission first before requesting a teacher to write a recommendation for you.
